Fontella Bass – Rescue Me – °/ e testo

In questi giorni la sentiamo spesso nel trailer del Film Un marito di troppo (The Accidental Husband), con Uma Thurman, Colin Firth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Sam Shepard e Isabella Rossellini.

Rescue Me è una canzone del 1965 di Fontella Bas ma è spesso erroneamente attribuita ad Aretha Franklin, che come genere assomiglia molto alla Bass. Io stesso cercando la canzone ho fatto lo stesso errore. Aretha Franklin ne registrò una porzione con un arrangiamento molto simile all’originale per uno spot pubblicitario nel 1993.

Rescue Me è stata inoltre utilizzata nelle colonne sonore di Air America, Jumpin’ Jack Flash e Sister Act.
