ON è l’undicesima e la traccia di MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, settimo album della boy band sudcoreana BTS disponibile su Amazon e iTunes a partire da giovedì 20 febbraio 2020. Nel disco ne è presente anche una versione che vede la partecipazione di Sia.

I BTS hanno lanciato un’anteprima del loro ultimo singolo in esclusiva su TikTok 12 ore prima della pubblicazione del loro album provocando momentaneamente il crash dell’applicazione. BTS sono i primi ad aver presentato in anteprima una traccia sulla piattaforma di micro-video.

On è una reinterpretazione di N.O, dall’EP O!RUL8,2? pubblicato nel 2013. In un’intervista con Zane Lowe per Apple Music, RM l’ha definita “un grande diario degli ultimi sette anni. Una sorta di versione condensata dell’intera identità dei BTS. […] È come una dichiarazione che abbiamo accettato il nostro destino, tutte le sofferenze e tutte le ombre“.
