Il btano è tratto da Minions 2: come Gru diventa cattivissimo (Titolo originale Minions: The Rise of Gru) prodotto da Jack Antonoff, vincitore del Grammy 2022 come “Producer of the Year”.

Si tratta del primo singolo tratto dalla colonna sonora originale realizzata per “Minions 2: come Gru diventa cattivissimo” (Minions: The Rise of Gru), il nuovo cartone animato in uscita il 18 agosto nelle sale cinema italiane.

La trama del Film

Ambientato negli anni ’70, il film racconta la storia di come Gru, il più grande supercattivo del mondo, ha incontrato per la prima volta i suoi iconici Minions, formando la squadra più spregevole del cinema e affrontando la più inarrestabile forza criminale mai riunita.

La colonna Sonora

La colonna sonora celebra una serie di classici del funk, della disco e del soul, con versioni inedite di alcuni dei più grandi successi degli anni Settanta realizzati da alcuni dei più brillanti talenti di oggi. Dalla nuova rivisitazione di St. Vincent della hit Funkytown dei Lipps Inc del 1979 e dall’interpretazione di H.E.R. del successo di Sly and The Family Stone del 1967 Dance to the Music, alla versione di Bleachers del brano Instant Karma! di John Lennon del 1970 e all’interpretazione di Phoebe Bridgers del singolo Goodbye To Love dei Carpenters del 1972, ogni brano è stato reimmaginato da ciascun artista con risultati geniali. E naturalmente gli stessi Minions sono tra i protagonisti dell’album, con la loro particolare interpretazione di un classico degli anni ’70, Cecilia, di Simon & Garfunkel

Il produttore esecutivo della colonna sonora, Jack Antonoff, è un cantante, cantautore e produttore discografico di fama mondiale, nonché cantante della rock band Bleachers. Come autore e produttore, Antonoff, che nel 2021 è stato definito dalla BBC colui che ha “ridefinito la musica pop”, ha collaborato con artisti del calibro di Diana Ross, Taylor Swift, Lorde, St. Vincent, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, Kevin Abstract e molti altri. Grazie a questi lavori Antonoff ha raccolto numerosi riconoscimenti, tra cui sei Grammy Awards, il più recente nel 2022 Producer of the Year.

La colonna sonora originale di “Minions 2: come Gru diventa cattivissimo” (Minions: The Rise of Gru) sarà disponibile in CD, LP e Digitale a partire dall’1 luglio 2022 su etichetta Decca Records.
