Sviluppata dagli showrunner JD Payne e Patrick McKay per il servizio di streaming Prime Video, dove è disponibile a partire dal primo settembre 2022.

La trama

Ambientata migliaia di anni prima degli eventi de Lo Hobbit e Il Signore degli Anelli, la serie è basata sulla storia della Terra di Mezzo dell’autore JRR Tolkien. Inizia durante un periodo di relativa pace e copre tutti i principali eventi della Seconda Era della Terra di Mezzo: la forgiatura degli Anelli del Potere, l’ascesa dell’Oscuro Signore Sauron, la caduta del regno insulare di Númenor e l’ultima alleanza tra elfi e uomini. Questi eventi si svolgono nel corso di migliaia di anni nelle storie originali di Tolkien, ma sono condensati per la serie.
